Any day can break us, neighbor, so there’s no shame in falling apart. Searching for what you’ve lost, looking closer at what you’ve found, it’s another part of being human. If you have a rough time, take a moment to meditate. Let the mind wander in silence, to the puddles, the clouds, the dust, and the sand. You may not like the answers, take comfort in the things that will be.
I took some rounds along the bay
To learn of what
I’ll be I saw a dolphin, turned away
It looks nothing like me
And so I make toward the farm
A pig will catch my eye
It rolls around with little charm
And so I leave the stye
No luck this time, a sigh denied
While dripping off the pier
But when reflecting in the tide
The ripples show me clear
