This one is very personal. It flows kind of quickly, and it shares a lot of my pain. That said, I’m very proud of what I’ve done here…

If you know somebody dealing with depression, it may seem a trick to “deal with them” at times, but the truth is, you probably mean a lot to them just as you are. Treat them as you’d want to be treated, and they’ll likely let you in as long as you’re genuine. That’s how to be truly accepted; letting yourself open to attack first. Even if it doesn’t work out, you’re going to grow more than the others you gave a chance, and that’s more cathartic than any kind of sassy remark you can cleverly devise.

Hey, Dr. Dealer

Tell me, Dr. Dealer,
Am I worth my indecision
All the pain runs down the drain, left off from
Every ill incision
Am I worse
or am I mad
Am I better than my dad
Am I ready
Are we for it
Am I getting loud before I hit the ground

Tell me true and
Tell me why
You found me
Staring at the sky
I know I’m peaceful
Know I’m boring
Counting raindrops when it’s pouring

I can’t believe it
Can’t receive it
Count my blessings, made it through
If I found it
She unwound it
Can I really count on you?

Dr. Dealer, am I fine?
Am I pretty drinking wine?
I’m colossal
Entertaining
Am I witty?
Are you straining?
I’m uncertain
I’m afraid
If I’m wanted
Can I stay?
Can I live and love a while?

I can’t believe it
Can’t receive it
Count my blessings, made it through
If I found it
She unwound it
Can I really count on you?

Can I laugh and
Can I smile?
When I’m down and
When I’m bruised
My path is only what I choose I’m
Egocentric

To the wire
God, my brain sure feels on fire
Please just stop it
For a minute
Let’s discuss while
We’re still in it
Need a moment
Not a mile
Need to breathe and
Reconcile

I can’t believe it
Can’t receive it
Count my blessings, made it through
If I found it
She unwound it
Can I really count on you?

Someone took my future
Was it me?
I’ve been patiently stuck in my family tree
And then one after ‘nother, they try shake me down
But my thoughts in the clouds
With my feet on the ground
I’m aching for new and an easy way to be
Got my hands deep in my pockets
Feeling for my misery
