It’s said that a man never forgets each love he has had. I know I’m like that. It doesn’t mean I can’t genuinely find those affections for another. It just means I have experience with those feelings. If you’re like me, you may have been suspected by your later relationships for ever having those feelings for others. As long as you’re compartmentalizing those feelings for others and only showing your full affections for your partner, you’re doing it the right way. It’s normal to have those feelings. Be your best man and don’t act on them. If your partner still doesn’t respect you, maybe that’s something to address.
