I hope someday we’ll have a laugh in a bottle ’bout who we were
Raise a flag to the old as the new rolls in like a soap-box blur
Change is the rhythm we once forgave
It’s fresh and alive as a morning shave
It’s harder to hold on tight when you can’t go slow

I hear they built a new crevice between our first date and the place we met
With invisible bricks and intangible sticks and the hay we left
Time’s a better reason than what I had
Fading away, but I think for a tad
‘Bout the ones we shared, and those we’ll never know

Now my reflection tells me I’m all I got but I won’t heed
When the wind blows harder, I can’t fall down if I’m a tumbleweed
Ramble the street down to New Orleans
Sitting for a minute with the old blue jeans
And they whistle a tune that reminds me of long ago

I’m only stuck for a moment, but it’s too bad I’d best move on
It’s just the grass looking greener than on my best friend’s neighbor’s lawn
He’s burning both ends of a Roman candle
Forgetting to leave room so he can handle
Giving me flashbacks colors refuse to show

~~~~~~
You need to move on. If you met somebody who hurt you, you need to move on. There’s a wide world of possibility, and it’s high time you experimented.
