She called me boring
Like it’s the whole thing
She’s just ignoring
The rain we’re pouring
I’m underestimated
I can’t escape it
Your every touch
As if my heart expected
I won’t forget it
It’s not enough
Some lies
Were hard avoided
I’ll try
To cover up
Sometimes
We’re exploited
But in the end, what’s right
Is just a do or die
Carve into trees who know our name
We’ll last forever just the same
Just run away with me
And sing with me
Illegal love
Right there, beneath the world we knew
And all the ink we penned kept bleeding on through
Right there, beneath the suffering
Led a life of contortion, fit for a king
Right there, in the below abyss
A cyclical craving to leave us like this
Right there, serving the loneliness
The cute and my kindness drying my wrist
Carved into trees who know our name
We’ll last forever, playing our game
Just sing, and ring a rhyme
We’ll hold out forever, love is our crime
Just sing, and shout it out
Their listening fears will burn it all down
Just scream, into the night
We’ll tear out the chords
We’ll tear out the chords
Enjoy and we can be alright

Phew! That one took a while to finish! I’m glad with how it turned out. I’ve always wanted to write one like this, and now I have. It’s great to let loose every once and a while.
For all my American visitors out there, did you enjoy your Independence Day? Exercise your freedom responsibly now, you hear? One’s own freedom is tainted when it crushes another’s freedom intentionally. Self awareness helps here.
Have a fantastic Sunday, all.
