She came around again last night
Like any other “it’s all right”
The consolation cuts me to the core
She grooms me I’m good as I am
And I keep feeling I’m a sham
‘Cause all I ever wanted was for more
Fading streetlights hold me
The dripping banners dare
I’m dodging raindrops slowly as my chapping lips grow bare
The cold lets out a whistle
It tells me I live there
But I’m stuck living out my wet nightmare

Listen, I know it gets just so hard sometimes, to see what comes next. To listen to the breeze, and let your surroundings touch you after trauma hits. Those times when all you can do is let the hits keep coming, thinking you’ve done wrong. You’ll get through this. You’ll be stronger for it. You’ve come a long way, so don’t give yourself so little credit. I’ll be here tomorrow. I’ll meet you there.
