When my grandfather lost his wife, the family was devastated. He never gave up hope that her spirit was still out there, wrapping her arms around him, only barely intangible. What a couple. He gave up his religion to learn hers, and live that lifestyle with her. I don’t see myself doing something like that for anybody. What a guy… He even wrote a song recently to her. I’m so proud of him! I’ll dedicate this one to my grandfather, then. Gramps, big man, to your health, your smile, and that laugh!

Our Song

Somebody took our song away
They tracked the sand from the desert I swear
And in a hurry we were off of the floor
Through the alleys we’d been before

No more pills, got the thrills right in front of
Every time I look for answers in your eyes, it’s a part of
Some adventure out to Neverland
I’m a thousand miles an hour and we’re one with the wind again

Secrets I could sell ya
Come close and I can tell ya
So as long as we’re together
I’ll be your open door

You say you found some other way
To feed the monster that would eat you alive
And god, I thought you’d never wish on a star
By now you’d make it far

Day and night, I’m losing sight, my feelings never
Losing on their hold of me, and what could be a warm whatever I’m
Just out of my mind
Got my hand off the edge and I’m waiting for another time

The secrets I could sell ya
Come close and I can tell ya
So long as we’re together
I’ll be your open door

My every someone
My only someone
I know you’re still around
I’ll be waiting here forever

Just make a sound
