The Robin’s red whistle
A song on a wing
Tells tattles past crystal
Past snowfall in spring
It sings of the warm
And it softens all stings
Because ending a storm
Is just kind of its thing

Did you know Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania got its name from the flies in the area? Apparently the Lenape word for mosquito, “ponkis”, suited the region so well that they named the town for the prevalent pulse-pursuant pests. It’s fascinating how culture progresses!
