Love is the greatest adventure, isn’t it? The twists and turns are always a surprise, with nuggets of mystery, and little mini-ventures every day. Whenever I hear how two friends got together, I can’t stop the hearts in my eyes. But maybe that’s just what everyone vies?

Sparkling Blue

Sitting here by the edge of a view
Laughing off the subtle pains with you
I imagine all the things we’ll do
Just a happy little search for two

While I’m gazing at the ocean
Unsure of what and size
You help me in a motion
You set me toward the prize

For what, you tell me, tattling
With truths my mind would hide
Where other mouths left rattling
You opened up my eyes

“There’s a great adventure on that sea
And I’d have it here with you
Don’t need to search for other mates
A family needs but two

And though you may frightened, dear
I’ll help you see it through
That great adventure starts right here
On the shores of sparkling blue!”

We gathered up our trinkets there
Our pots and pans and glue
We stuck together, braided hair
And split tobacco chew

But soon would come a hurricane
Away our cabin flew
So, swept away by wind and rain
Our luggage back to two

“I hope you’re happy”
She did prey
As the storm clouds shone the sky
So I dried her tears with a smile to say
“You’re my only reason why”

“There’s a great adventure on that sea
And I’d have it with you
Don’t need to search for other mates
A family needs but two

And though you may frightened, dear
I’ll help you see it through
That great adventure starts right here
On the shores of sparkling blue!”

Be it ocean or sky, adventure starts in your eye!
Be it ocean or sky, have an adventurer’s eye

After-Adventure Blinding Backside

So, you know I had fun writing that one, right? Come on, how could I not?? I love writing folk songs! Ah, but I did grab some influence and inspiration from the Celtic folk song, Foggy Dew. Now, you may find that rendition slow, as it it is a lamenting folk song from 1916. If that’s not your speed, I beseech thee~ to try this one on for size!

I know, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. I’m definitely the Celtic folk fan here, for sure. Hey, pat yourself on the back for trying something new today! AND, have a fantastic day! You made it to the weekend!
