You know what? I’m always far too worried about things. In general, really. I get too much in my own head, thinking on what-ifs.

“What if I said something offensive to my friend?”

“What if my eyesight’s deteriorating?”

“Have I really done my all today?”

Recently I discovered a great twist to these thoughts– something to change the game. I tasked my inner dialogue to think in pantomime rather than words.

By doing it in my head and seeing results, I can lower the stress and build confidence as if I’ve already done what I was doing. A kind of, “Got you covered, me,” approach.

It really takes the edge off your common tricky situations, but don’t drop the cool confidence part, or it all falls apart! It’s all about tricking yourself into showing your more quiet competencies, so don’t go out there as a fraudulent brain surgeon!
