We lose track. That’s a part of human nurture. When we started living in groups, as a social creature, we started losing our grasp on what we really want. Hierarchies, cliques, the leader and follower dynamic… our long-term and day-to-day merge to a confusing silhouette. It’s okay, and it’s going to get better. Remember to value yourself. There’s nothing so illusive as a healthy self image, so when you find it, hold onto it. Every man is his own beast, with fulfilling needs and intangible feelings. That’s not to say they’re imaginary. That’s not to say they’re false. Respect your brother, respect your sister, and respect yourself. Trust in the journey.

Nothing at All

I’ve been hitting on a halo
Thinking we were more than that
But my prematuring makes me out a
Cheeky alley cat

Thinking he could have another
If he gussied up the sun
But precipitating fashion makes him
Not the only one

Let’s talk about
Let’s talk about who we are

Rising high
Take a shuttle to a star

Catching up
Keeping up
Gimme all I see

Give a care
Give a time
Just to be free

She would tell me once and more now how I
Hit a hollow flare
So come hell and so high water, I’m a
Man without compare

So open up
Dive on in
It’s just me
I’m just him

Open up
I’m here to win and in my
Sunday best

Who are you
Who are you but a stranger
Beating in my chest

I’m out of line
You’re out of time
We’re on the edge of something
“Nothing at all”
