There has always been a sensationalism in the media that has made itself necessary to the industry. Why read what’s going on in the world if it isn’t interesting, right? But what happens when the uneducated masses gain such power? What happens when they’re just charismatic enough to grab your attention, with polarizing views based on misinformation? What if they lie?

One of the drawbacks to living in a world with free speech is that we need listen to drivel during our day-to-day, but that’s still better than the droning on of messages left under the watchful glare of Big Brother. Mind yourself in our larger-than-life, aggrandizing environment. We don’t want to lose our way, following media profits who are more after the public attention than the beliefs they instill.

My recommendation? The less you immerse yourself in social media, the more rest you let yourself have on your time off the clock. Save it for when you’re connecting with family. The only people who need to see your face, are the people who will care to see it. Make your sanctuary sanct once more.

With any luck, you’ve put your phone down by now and got something for yourself to improve your day, but if you haven’t yet, I hope you indulge in one more personal recommendation from me. If you’re looking for a place to start, get yourself outside. Touch the grass. Bundle up if you need to. And put yourself in nature to feel once more.
