What happens to you
when you’re wondering why?

For every endeavor,
a means to an end
Was it always for real?
Were you playing pretend?

And pretending is fine!
It takes us afar!
It reaches to times when our swears filled the jar!

With pockets of pennies,
and empty of sand
It takes us to happy
It takes us unplanned

So joke and guffaw
It’s not breaking the law
With candies so big that they burden your jaw

If ever you can
and if ever you could
but never
oh never
do less than you would

Not Just an Afterthought!

I compare myself with my peers often, and always come up short. Because I have chosen a different path than they have. What good do hundreds of hours spent writing do for a man who maintains servers for a major tech company? What good does it do me to ponder and pour over his achievements when they have no similarity to mine? It’s all just effort. Different directions of effort. But still, I want more. I want more of my life. And I hope you live yours to be the best you. Not the best somebody else.
